Contact lens fitting

The Cl fitting tab is used when the patient needs contact lenses (either new fit or refit). It's a multi-stage flow because contact lens fitting is iterative — try a lens, evaluate fit + vision, adjust, try again.

Stages

Each stage has its own Rx table (OD / OS with the standard CL parameters — BC, Diameter, Sph, Cyl, Axis, brand, material):

  1. Trial 1 / Trial 2 / Trial 3 — lenses you actually put on the eye that visit.
  2. Fitting 1 / Fitting 2 / Fitting 3 — evaluation of how each trial sat (centration, movement, VA over the trial).
  3. Dr Design — the lens the doctor thinks is right.
  4. Lab Design — for custom-made lenses, what you send to the lab.
  5. Rx — the finalized contact lens prescription.

You don't need to fill every stage. A simple refit might jump straight from Trial 1Rx.

What ends up in the patient record

The Rx section is the source of truth for the patient's contact lens prescription. That's what shows up on the patient card, on the order form when the patient wants to buy contacts, and on any Rx print-out.
